Only 480 something days left to rot in high school

So this week my friend, Emily counted up the days we had left in high school; and the grand total came to 493 as of Monday or Tuesday!!! Wow, time really flies. Who would have thought that the class of 2011 would be graduating so soon? Definitely not me.

This news is somewhat good and bad. On the upside, no more uniforms, stupid high school boys, and all that high school drama. Oh, and that important thing called COLLEGE!!! On the downside, I will be away from my family that I love soo much, away from my high school friends, and no more home-cooked meals!!

Well, that is a lot to think about. What is that you may ask?? That would be these wonderful words called MY FUTURE. I have goals...go to UNC major in journalism and minor in mass communications and history, go to law school, and get my master's degree in mass communications. Oh, live in New York City, Washington, DC, or Chicago after living in the ATL or Chucktown and work for ESPN!! So many goals, so little time...at least that is how it feels.

Time is flying by. I can remember being in K-4 with all my little buddies!! Good times. I can also remember dreaming of the day I would turn 16, get my license, and drive my VW Beetle. Well, all these moments have passed; and all I have left are the memories...oh, so many memories.

As for my reads, I am trying to finish Loves Music, Loves to Dance and The Blind Side, but they are pretty hard to read. I have this extremely long list of books I want to read. Might as well put this list on here.

The Host, Kissed by an Angel, At First Sight, Message in a Bottle, The Choice, True Believer, The Wedding, The Lucky One, Secret Life of Bees, My Sister's Keeper, The Time Traveler's Wife, House Rules, and Runaway. That is just half of the books I want to read considering that I want to read all of Nicholas Sparks', Jane Austen's, Jodi Picoult's, and Meg Cabot's books. In due time, I hope to have read them all....like maybe when I have graduated from UNC.

Well, I guess I have blogged long enough for today!! Peace out homies!! Much love!!

ACC Barnstorming Tour

On Thursday, my dad, brother, and I headed out to the high school to see what we thought would be the ACC All-Stars. These all-stars included Jon Scheyer of Duke, Nolan Smith of Duke, Ishmael Smith of Wake Forest, and Marcus Ginyard of UNC. All except for Marcus Ginyard didn't show, and even though Ginyard showed up, he didn't play.

The people that did show played extremely well. They really whooped our local high school all-stars. They were all a foot taller too. The people that did show included Brian Zoubek of Duke, L.D. Williams of Wake Forest, Lance Thomas of Duke, and Deon Thompson of UNC. Trust me, there were way more people on the all-star team than that.

They signed autographs after the game, and I got the autographs of the people listed above (Zoubek, Thompson, Williams, and Thomas) and another Carolina player, James Gallagher. I was really excited!! I took pictures with the two Carolina players!!!

As I was walking out of the door to go home, I spotted UNC star Marcus Ginyard and quickly fast-walked to get his autograph only to hear the most depressing words, "I am sorry, but I'm not signing any more autographs." Now if I had been the outspoken person I sometimes wish I was, I would have said,"You haven't even signed one, let alone any more!!" But since I'm not that outspoken, I just bottled up my speech to Ginyard until I was walking to the car with my dad and brother. So much for getting all autographs of the UNC players present at the game.

Well, I guess my spill was long enough!!
Gonna go now! PEACE OUT!!!

March Madness-ENDED!!!

In my earlier blog that I just posted not even five minutes ago, I forgot to mention March Madness is over!! I am very upset, yet happy to see that the championship returned to Tobacco Road!!
I am proud of Duke, even though they are Carolina's rival. They kept the ACC/North Carolina tradition alive!!! A true North Carolinian would understand this concept! :)

I am happy as long as the championship stays between UNC, Duke, Wake Forest, and NC State-and maybe even some other ACC schools!!

Well, time to go, again. :)

UPDATE!!! WHERE HAVE I BEEN???

Hey Peeps (Man, I want some of those since I missed out on them over the Easter holiday)!!! I will just update you guys about what I've done over the past two weeks!!!

Last Saturday, I got to see the Last Song!! I must say Miley Cyrus did a good job acting!!! The part that made me mad about the movie is they left Pastor Harris out. If you do not know, Pastor Harris was an essential part of the book!! That really made me mad!!

Easter Sunday, we youth put on our usual Easter speeches which I must say went over successfully!! Thank you Jesus!! :)

Throughout last week, I went to WAYN and interned!! I really enjoyed myself. I now know my calling in life broadcasting/journalism!! I was all nervous trying to figure out what to say before I said it, but when I did speak it just came to me naturally. I love, love, love the communications field.

Last night, I rented a few movies-Sherlock Holmes, I Can Do Bad All by Myself, and A Walk to Remember. Sherlock Holmes has to be the awesomest, new action film I have seen so far (Clash of the Titans might just steal that spot). I liked the plot, and from the way the movie ended, I can pretty much tell when Robert Downey, Jr. gets done with Ironman 2, he will definitely be making another Sherlock Holmes. I Can Do Bad All by Myself was a good movie, not one of my favorites though. A Walk to Remember was good, but it differed from the book in many ways. The book was set in 1958, whereas the movie was set in the 21st century. Also, Landon's parents were divorced; and his father was a cardiologist, not a politician.

Next week, my school is headed on a field trip to Charleston!! We are going to spend the night on the battleship!! How awesome??? I am super-excited to go on this trip, even though I have already been. Instead of going to Fort Sumter, this time we will be exploring Charleston Harbor!! That is where my parents were married, so I am really looking forward to this trip.

Well, that's all for now folks!!! :)

My Nicholas Sparks Obsession

Here is the blog about all the Nicholas Sparks' books I have read!! I'll start with my absolute favorite-only because they are all some of my favorite books.

Dear John is my absolute favorite. This book is a story of a soldier who fell in love on his leave. John meets a girl named Savannah who is building houses for Habitat for Humanity during her spring break. I think my favorite part of the book would have to do with the fact that Savannah attends UNC!!! Go Heels!! But anyway, this book is my absolute favorite. I don't know why, but it just is.

The Last Song is a good because it's a story about a girl my age. Ever since I started reading, I have always loved to read about people my age. This book is about a girl who falls in love while visiting her estranged father for the summer.

The Notebook is good partly because that is my one of my favorite movies and also because it is just an overall good book. I know I keep saying this about all the other books, but it really is. This book is about a girl that falls in love again with her first love, although she is engaged. DRAMA!!! :)

A Walk to Remember is morally my favorite book. Landon did not have to marry Jamie, but he did which makes the book way cool!! I am at a loss for words for these books, sorry.

If you notice a trend, all of these books are movies. I also have a tendency to read books-turned-movies or vice versa. The next book on my list is The Lucky One. Then I will read hopefully both At First Sight and The Wedding. Maybe by the time I graduate from college I will have read most of his books-new releases and old ones.

Well, my book for this week is To Kill a Mockingbird, and my goal is to finish the majority of the books I have started within the last 6 months-The Blind Side, Loves Music, Loves to Dance, and the Lovely Bones. The Lovely Bones is kinda creeping me out though; so I doubt I will finish it in the upcoming weeks.

Well, that is all for now folks!!! Hope everyone has a good Easter weekend!!!!
Remember the reason!!!
