College Rut

So I am midway through the Choice, and I am starting to think that this book might actually be the one of the best Nicholas Sparks books ever!!! Wow, I know I probably say that about all of his books; but it's true! :) I think I am just obsessed with Nicholas Sparks' books. I will attempt to review the book later.

So I am thinking hard and long about college. What school should I make my third and fourth choices are my impending questions. I know UNC Chapel Hill and Wake Forest are my first two, but a change in plans caused me to question my third and fourth choices. Now, I am stuck in a college rut. I hope to visit a ton of colleges this summer, starting with my first two choices and ending with Elon, ECU, and many, many more colleges.

Only 9 and a half days until I am officially a high school senior!!! My classmates and I are so excited! I am pretty sure the topic comes up at least once everyday. Let me just tell you that our seniors are so ready to leave it isn't even funny. They talk about getting their diplomas just as much as we talk about graduating.

Well, I guess it's time to go. Peace out!!

Only 12 Days of School

On the thirteenth day before school gets out, our English teacher decided to give us a literature quiz that everybody failed. Why??? Who knows...then we discussed the political aspects of 1984 by George Orwell. Yeah that pretty much stunk.

Well I finished the Lucky One. I was starting to get scared at the end. Why you may ask, because the prologue started with Beth going to the cemetery to take flowers to the grave. I for real thought Logan had died. I even started crying and saying," NO WAY!" Honestly, I was very happy to read that Logan was walking towards her. I was especially happy to hear her say that he was hers forever. That book wasn't the best Nicholas Sparks book, but it was good. Next on my Nicholas Sparks list to read is the Choice. I am excited to start it. I might start it tonite.

One of my biggest pet peeves is people smacking their gum. Kind of like the way my brother is smacking his gum right now. The more he smacks the more agitated I become. That is why I am typing all hard and mad.....it really URKS ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I am too agitated to type right now...so I will say Adios!!!

My Journalist's Sentence of the Day

So on Sunday I got two new books to add to my wonderful collection... the Choice by Nicholas Sparks and American Diva by Julia London. We went into Books-A-Million, and I went absolutely crazy. I saw most of the books on my reading list, but most were too expensive. Who would pay $17.00 for a paperback book? Well, that is how much Jodi Picoult's paperback books are. I saw some at Sam's Club, but they were some of the books that I didn't want to read. But guess what, I now want to read one of them named Salem Falls. At Books-A-Million, I picked out a Meg Cabot Airhead series book, but I was told my budget was $10. The book was $9.99. But how could I a Nicholas Sparks obsessed person give up on getting the Choice hardcover for $6.97? I absolutely couldn't. I told Meg Cabot she could wait.

I started on my new book today. I still don't have a title, but I have a direction in which to go. It's a start. This book will be my summer project. I hope to have it finished by the time I get to school. Maybe, just maybe, I can find someone who would be nice enough to publish it. I can become one of those high school prodigies. :) I have already written a book. I wrote it when I was in 5th grade almost 7 years ago. I thought it was time to write another one. Well, I did start another one; but I kind of lost my manuscript.

In English class, we have to write a narrative with a moral. I have no stories or memories of my own that have a moral to them. I never did anything wrong like that. Maybe I could write a story about my memories of my Grandma. That is a good idea. My daddy says I should write about how practice makes a basketball player a better player. I don't know, but I will certainly have to find a topic.

I am glad the Celtics won yesterday. They finally kicked into gear!! Thank goodness. It will probably come to the seventh game. Come on Celtics!!! Champions 2010!!!

We got our yearbooks today. My parents say I am plastered all over it. My daddy said it's probably because my secret admirer is on the yearbook staff. Parents. :)

Well, that is all for now. I am all hot and sweaty from playing basketball outside. I have a ton of mosquito bites and should probably jump in the shower. Well, I think that is what I am about to do, jump in the shower.

Peace out!!

Mother's Day in the Wee Hours of the Morning

Hey people!! Today, I tried to finish up my college class Intro to Political Science; but I just can't seem to do it. I did at least get most of the assignments done, and all I have left to do is ONE test!! I am really hoping to make an A in this class. This class has taught me one very important thing....I really don't want to go into politics...unless I am reporting the newest gossip, etc. But as for being a politician.....no thank you.

We got progress reports Friday....and I have all A's and 1 B. That B is in Anatomy and Physiology. That class is so hard, but I only missed two on the test Friday. I am so proud of myself.

Senior year is fast approaching. I am actually kind of ready, but I am more ready for the summer of fun. I have so many things to do from camp to vacations. It's the first summer in a long time that we practically have something to do every week. July being the busiest month of the summer. For this reason, I don't want to take any college classes over the summer. I want to take the class in person, and it is hard to be in class when I am in another state or county. So, I guess I will just start back up in the fall.

As for the college applications, I think I finally have my mind made up about what schools I am applying to. I mean Syracuse is pretty far away.....and it gets pretty cold in upstate New York during the winter. Maybe Syracuse is a good place to get my master's degree, but as for now, I will stick to the warmer states. The more southern states or western states (Cali!! baby!!) lol.

Friday, my mommy and I watched 27 Dresses. That movie was pretty good. It's better than what people told me it would be like. I like how at the end Jane had her bridesmaids wear all 27 of their own bridesmaid's dresses. That was pretty hilarious. I told my mom that I didn't want to have many friends so I wouldn't have to wear their ugly bridesmaid's dresses. :)

Yup...well it's late and it's Mother's Day. By the way, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!
Going to sleep now....hopefully...or I may just read the Lucky One.

Peace out!!!

25 Days until I'm Officially a HS Senior!!

Exciting news.... I'll be a senior in exactly 25 days!! This means that this next year will be the last year of boring high school things. The closer I get to becoming a senior, the more excited I become!! At the beginning of the school year everytime I heard someone mention the word senior, I would tear up and begin crying. Now, I get so excited and immediately start naming off colleges for undergrad and grad school. Then, I get all super duper excited and start naming off the places I want to live and where I want to work----ESPN!!!

"I'm so excited and I just can't hide it!!" Song references-my best friend says that I have a song for everything, but I know someone who has a song for everything..my fellow compadres. :)

More exciting news...I got the Lucky One today. I am pumped to read it. Partly because I haven't read a good book in a while. As I mentioned before, I have been trying to read Loves Music, Loves to Dance and the Blind Side for a few months now..and I just can't seem to finish them. I will eventually, but right now I have an awesome book to add to my Nicholas Sparks obsession!

Well, it's back to school this week for another 25 days!! Yippee!!
Well p3ac3 out!! :)

Only 480 something days left to rot in high school

So this week my friend, Emily counted up the days we had left in high school; and the grand total came to 493 as of Monday or Tuesday!!! Wow, time really flies. Who would have thought that the class of 2011 would be graduating so soon? Definitely not me.

This news is somewhat good and bad. On the upside, no more uniforms, stupid high school boys, and all that high school drama. Oh, and that important thing called COLLEGE!!! On the downside, I will be away from my family that I love soo much, away from my high school friends, and no more home-cooked meals!!

Well, that is a lot to think about. What is that you may ask?? That would be these wonderful words called MY FUTURE. I have goals...go to UNC major in journalism and minor in mass communications and history, go to law school, and get my master's degree in mass communications. Oh, live in New York City, Washington, DC, or Chicago after living in the ATL or Chucktown and work for ESPN!! So many goals, so little time...at least that is how it feels.

Time is flying by. I can remember being in K-4 with all my little buddies!! Good times. I can also remember dreaming of the day I would turn 16, get my license, and drive my VW Beetle. Well, all these moments have passed; and all I have left are the memories...oh, so many memories.

As for my reads, I am trying to finish Loves Music, Loves to Dance and The Blind Side, but they are pretty hard to read. I have this extremely long list of books I want to read. Might as well put this list on here.

The Host, Kissed by an Angel, At First Sight, Message in a Bottle, The Choice, True Believer, The Wedding, The Lucky One, Secret Life of Bees, My Sister's Keeper, The Time Traveler's Wife, House Rules, and Runaway. That is just half of the books I want to read considering that I want to read all of Nicholas Sparks', Jane Austen's, Jodi Picoult's, and Meg Cabot's books. In due time, I hope to have read them all....like maybe when I have graduated from UNC.

Well, I guess I have blogged long enough for today!! Peace out homies!! Much love!!

ACC Barnstorming Tour

On Thursday, my dad, brother, and I headed out to the high school to see what we thought would be the ACC All-Stars. These all-stars included Jon Scheyer of Duke, Nolan Smith of Duke, Ishmael Smith of Wake Forest, and Marcus Ginyard of UNC. All except for Marcus Ginyard didn't show, and even though Ginyard showed up, he didn't play.

The people that did show played extremely well. They really whooped our local high school all-stars. They were all a foot taller too. The people that did show included Brian Zoubek of Duke, L.D. Williams of Wake Forest, Lance Thomas of Duke, and Deon Thompson of UNC. Trust me, there were way more people on the all-star team than that.

They signed autographs after the game, and I got the autographs of the people listed above (Zoubek, Thompson, Williams, and Thomas) and another Carolina player, James Gallagher. I was really excited!! I took pictures with the two Carolina players!!!

As I was walking out of the door to go home, I spotted UNC star Marcus Ginyard and quickly fast-walked to get his autograph only to hear the most depressing words, "I am sorry, but I'm not signing any more autographs." Now if I had been the outspoken person I sometimes wish I was, I would have said,"You haven't even signed one, let alone any more!!" But since I'm not that outspoken, I just bottled up my speech to Ginyard until I was walking to the car with my dad and brother. So much for getting all autographs of the UNC players present at the game.

Well, I guess my spill was long enough!!
Gonna go now! PEACE OUT!!!
